Mother’s Garden

Artist Statement - “Mother’s Garden” is a series of limited edition drypoint prints, each on cotton rag paper. This collection of botanical work highlights flowers that flourish at my parents' hobby farm in Bewdley, Ontario. Aesthetically, the series is inspired by vintage wallpaper and my admiration for symmetry and repitition. I have found this exploration of symmetry, pattern and floral imagery incredibly meditative in my artistic practice. Conceptually, the work embodies the essence of tradition, reflecting the value of family and the time-honored technique of drypoint using black ink on white paper. This body of work is both deeply personal and universally relatable, reflecting a journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration that invites viewers to connect with my process and the familial bonds that inspire it.
